It offers a candid look into their professional and personal lives, with a particular focus on how they share and document their work online.
Through a sincere and nuanced lens, Elective challenges common assumptions about the people who engage with cosmetic treatments. Exploring the personal motivations behind these choices and how a large percentage of individuals seek to align their physical appearance with their inner sense of self. A complicated journey that will permanently alter their physical image.
At its core, Elective examines not only how the cosmetic industry presents itself on social media, but how it participates in and is influenced by new forms of communication driven by memeified visual language that we all engage with daily.
