A regional worker shortage summons Cass to his forsaken childhood home of Bundaberg, where he finds himself on a spiritual search for redemption. On this unwitting journey of self-discovery, Cass crosses paths with a local fish and chip shop worker, Andrew. Andrew is a second generation Chinese Australian who is suddenly confronted with the death of his father. Cass and Andrew’s stories of loss intertwine, seeing them exchange emotional comfort during their most turbulent times.

Exploring the deep existential struggles of regional farmers as they immerse themselves in the primal act of pig hunting. As they slaughter the wild boars they experience a fleeting violent release from their repressed surroundings. Parallel to this brutality, the documentary follows the labour and birth of a farmer's child, a figure of innocence, unburdened by worldly concerns. Yet, this child will inevitably face the weight of their surroundings and the suffocating forces of societal repression.
